As a young girl growing up in northern Indiana, Sandy MacGowan was greatly influenced by her father, a professional photographer. That influence, coupled with a natural artistic ability, would resurface years later, after she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University.

Sandy spent most of the next ten years as a computer graphics artist, specializing in speaker-support presentations, medical illustration and graphic design.

While studying 3D computer graphics and animation in Canada, Sandy met her husband, Brian MacGowan. A computer graphics artist with extensive training in photography, he has provided her with much insight into the quirks and foibles of computer graphics.

While on a career hiatus for motherhood, Sandy once again embraced her early love of photography. Digital photography, along with computer graphics, now enable her to artistically enhance her photos, resulting in the illusion of a painterly effect when viewed either onscreen or as a print.

Sandy currently resides once more in northern Indiana, along with Brian and their two daughters.
